ART REQUIREMENTS AND IMPRINTING INFORMATION

Sending Your Art File By EMail
When sending your artwork via email, it is very important to place your purchase order # in the subjectline and your company name phone contact and the product being imprinted in the body of your message.
 

  • Faxes are not considered camera ready art.

  • EPS & Adobe Illustrator Files,
    •  with
  • TEXT converted to outlines
    • is the best way to send art.

    Here is a list of file formats that we can accept either on disk, or as email attachments.You may use Winzip or Stuffit to compress files.


    MAC-300 DPI OR MORE

    Adobe Photoshop v7.0 - psd,eps,jpg,tiff. Good for all one color imprints. Please supply color separated layers in artwork with more than one color.
    Illustrator 10 - Please Save with all Text "converted to outlines".
    CorelDRAW Users - must Save As ai files with all text "converted to outlines".
    Freehand v10 or less

    PageMaker 6.5 or less
    Quark Express 4.0 - Please save as an eps file and Save all text with the Text to Box command.

    ADDITIONAL IMPRINTING INFORMATION

    Art Charge: $45.00(v) per hour.

     

    Camera Charge: $10.00(v) Enlargements or reductions of 100%.

     

    Standard Imprint Color: Black, unless otherwise specified.

     

    Non-standard Imprint Color: $12.50(v) set-up charge.

     

    Non-standard Imprint Color Running Charge On Books And Atlases Only: $.20(v) per piece running charge.

     
    LOGOS: $28.00(v) cut or set up charge Cuts are stored for two years and screens for one year.
     

    Second Color Or Second Side Imprint: $12.50(v) set-up charge, plus $.125(v) per piece, unless otherwise specified.

     

    Second Color And Overall Imprints On Atlases And Books: On paperbound atlases, price includes black imprint. For additional colors add $35.00(v) set up charge per color and $.25(v) running charge, per piece, per color. Overall custom covers available on quantities of 1,000-5,000 - contact us for quote. For overall imprint (full coverage) on leatherette and vinyl covered pocket sized atlases add $35.00(v) screen charge per color and $.25(v) running charge per color, per piece. For overall imprint (full coverage) on standard and large sized leatherette and vinyl covered atlases add $50.00(v) screen charge per color and $.75(v) running charge per color, per piece.

     

    Curved Copy: If camera ready curved copy is furnished then there is only a screen or cut charge. If factory has to set it, then there is a charge of $10.00(v) per line and a $35.00(v) cut charge.

     
    Change Of Copy: $10.00(v).
     

    Proofs: Unless otherwise specified, actual proofs: $40.00(v) plus associate screen, cut and art preparation charges.

     

    Faxed Proofs: or layouts - $10.00(v) each.

     

    Proofs: Unless otherwise specified, actual proofs: $40.00(v) plus any screen , cut and art preparation charges.

     

    Personalization: Not available unless otherwise specified. On atlases, personalization is available at $12.50(v) set-up, plus $2.00(v) per piece running charge.

     
    Copy: Print or type all copy. Imprint will be specified on order with set-up at our discretion.
     

    Repeat Orders: To ensure exact duplication, furnish our previous invoice number, date of invoice, and a sample. Exact imprint color and product cannot be guaranteed on repeat orders.

     

    ART PREPARATION

    Digital Art Requirements: Art should be created in high resolution (300 D.P.I.) using the following programs. Illustrator (v10), Photoshop (v7.0), PageMaker (v6.5), Quark Express (v4), and Freehand (v7).  NOTE: We can open older version output from these programs as long as they are not more than two versions old. We may not be able to extract output from newer versions. The art is to be saved in binary form, 300 D.P.I. or better.

    Suggestions And Helpful Tips: Direct print methods (textiles, screen printed Mouse Pads and Wrist Rests) should not have type below 12 pt. (san-serif) or 16 pt. (serif). Large reversal areas should be avoided. For letterpress or hotstamping methods, (jar openers, books, atlases), these  should have a line weight of at least .25 and point sizes should not be below 6 (san-serif), or 9 (serif).

    Halftones: All halftone art is subject to approval. For direct print and hotstamping processes, halftone art CANNOT BE PRODUCED. Halftones can be maintained on Mighty Grips when kept within the 30-70% range.
